ToggleMr. Miroslav and his family were staying at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Surabaya. The evening before departure, he sent us two short lines on WhatsApp — and at 9 AM the next morning, our driver was waiting in the hotel lobby. This is the story of their two days, and it might just become the blueprint for yours.
We left central Surabaya at 9 AM and headed south. Tumpak Sewu means "a thousand waterfalls" in the local language — an entire cliff face in a rainforest gorge, draped in curtains of falling water.
The panoramic viewpoint takes ten minutes. But the Miroslav family chose to trek all the way down to the bottom of the gorge. The steps are steep and slippery, and there's a small stream to wade through — our driver guided them the whole way and had reminded them in advance to bring water shoes. Standing directly beneath the falls, the two daughters made a heart sign for the camera.
By evening they were back at their hotel in Surabaya — a volcano was waiting for them the next morning.
Mount Bromo is East Java's icon: an active volcano that still breathes smoke, surrounded by a vast grey Sea of Sand. Our Innova brought the family to the village at the mountain's base, where they switched to one of the classic local 4x4 jeeps — regular cars simply can't cross the sand.
From the crater rim, white steam rises below your feet while the Tengger mountain range frames the horizon. On the way back, the two moms climbed straight onto the jeep's roof for photos, flashing peace signs and laughing.
They were back in Surabaya by the afternoon. When we said goodbye, Mr. Miroslav replied with a single folded-hands emoji — sometimes satisfaction doesn't need many words.
This is exactly what the Miroslav family paid — the quote is the final price, with no extra charges along the way. The Bromo jeep and park entrance tickets are paid separately on site at official posted rates.
Send us your dates and group size on WhatsApp and we'll confirm the vehicle and price — just like Mr. Miroslav did, the whole trip settled in a few messages.
